Porta Garibaldi

 

Fu progettata dall' architetto Frontoni nel 1722 ed era una parte delle mura che chiudevano la città. E' l' ultima delle 4 porte di accesso al centro della città. Questa porta è un monumento nazionale chiamato " porta romana" prima del 1870 e nominata "porta Garibaldi" dopo la conquista di Garibaldi. Sopra la porta ci sono due bandiere, la bandiera italiana e quella europea.

Garibaldi (1807-1882)

Era un generale e patriota. E' uno dei più celebri personaggi storici italiani, famoso in tutto il mondo, ed è anche un eroe nazionale.

                   It was projected by architect Frontoni in 1722 and it was a part of the wall which closed the town . It's the last one of the four doors leading to the centre of the town . This door is a national monument called "porta romana" before 1870 and named "porta Garibaldi" after Garibaldi 's conquer. On the door there are two flags, the Italian flag and the European flag. Garibaldi was born in 1807 and he died in 1882. He was a general and a patriot. He is one of the most famous Italian historical characters, famous all over the world, and he is a national hero.
