Pincetto - The "Pincetto"

"IL PINCETTO"

Sulla Piazza Giovanni Paolo II, vi è un caratteristico muro con fontana, chiamato il "Pincetto", perchè sembra un Pincio in miniatura, realizzato agli inizi del XX secolo per riparare il dislivello esistente tra  il nucleo più antico dell'abitato (che si trova ad una quota maggiore) e l'espansione urbana da parte della famiglia aristocratica dei Barberini nel XVII secolo.

On Giovanni Paolo II square, there is the characteristic wall with a fountain, called "The Pincetto", because it is a small miniature of the real "Pincio" in Rome.

It was built in the early 20th century to fill the gap between the oldest part of the town - located at a higher level - and the urban expansion by the aristocratic Barberini family in the 17th century.
