Il 24 giugno è la festa della "Ciummacata". Davanti alla piazza del duomo, la popolazione si raduna per ascoltare musica e ballare. Il piatto tipico è a base di lumache. A mezzanotte si brucia una strega, simbolo dell'arrivo dell'estate.
The "Ciummacata"
On 24th July we celebrate "The Ciummacata". People meet in the square in front of the Dome to listen to music and dance. The typical dish is based on snails. At midnight we burn a witch, symbol of the imminent summer.

Sant'Antonio Abate
Domenica 17 gennaio è la festa di Sant'Antonio. Sant'Antonio è il patrono degli animali e nelle vie di Monterotondo ci sono sfilate di cavalli e di carri con fiori di carta. La mattina i fedeli portano i loro cavalli davanti al duomo. La sera c'è la celebre torciata: si cammina per le vie di Monterotondo, dove le persone hanno una torcia e indossano un cappello nero e rosso, mentre mangiano "ciambelle a zampa"- tipici biscotti salati, coppiette - carne secca e piccante, bevendo vino rosso.
Saint Anthony Abbot
On Sunday 17th January we celebrate Saint Anthony Abbot. Saint Anthony is the patron saint of all animals and in the streeets of Monterotondo there are horse parades and carts with paper flowers.
In the morning people take their horses in front of the dome. In the evening there is the famous "torciata": we walk in the streets with a torch and we wear a black and red hat, while eating "ciambelle a zampa", typical salty cakes, and "coppiette", dry and hot spicy meat, and we drink red wine.
